Dave’s Top Ten Foods to Eat

The foods we eat have a significant impact on how we feel and our overall health. Find out what foods you should be including in your daily diet to stay as healthy as possible.


Fish rich in omega-3 fats, like salmon, seasoned with turmeric block inflammation pathways and reduce pain.
Pecans
are the highest antioxidant containing nut and contain the same heart-healthy type of fat found in olive oil.
Berries
served with oatmeal in the morning can improve cognitive function.
Onions, rich in the plant chemical quercetin, along with vitamin c-rich mushrooms, improve the skeletal system of the body by driving calcium into bones.
Artichoke Leaves contain powerful substances that help relax a spastic bowel naturally.
Beans have four out of the top twenty antioxidant containing foods. They are also the highest fiber containing vegetable.
Quinoa contains more protein than any other grain and because it contains all protein building essential amino acids, it boosts the quality of protein in vegetarian dishes.

About Dave

Dave’s first interest in nutrition started more than twenty-five years ago when he worked in the natural foods industry. Having owned and operated his own natural food store, he decided to become a registered dietitian and attend the University of Illinois at Chicago where he graduated with honors in Medical Dietetics and Nutrition.

Dave proudly served as a national spokesperson for the American Dietetic Association for six years. He is the Advisory Board Chair for Produce for Kids® and is on the advisory board at Fitness Magazine.

He is now the founder and president of Nutrition Housecall, a nutrition consulting firm that provides nutrition communications, lecturing and consulting services, and also offers personalized at-home dietary services.

Dave wrote the acclaimed book, 101 Foods That Could Save Your Life which is now out in sixteen different languages (to date). 101 Optimal Life Foods, with a foreword written by Montel Williams, is his latest effort and debuted in January 2010.
