Strawberry Cashew Milk

Unlike the processed strawberry milk on the market, this creamy, delicious version of the strawberry drink includes real California strawberries. Strawberries have as much vitamin C as an orange and are packed with essential vitamins, fiber, potassium and antioxidants. Sweet. Now that is an after school snack everyone can feel good about!

Strawberry Cashew Milk

This homemade strawberry milk is a healthy twist on the classic childhood favorite. It makes a great afternoon snack for both kids and adults!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup raw cashews
  • 2 cups water plus more for soaking
  • 2 cups roughly chopped strawberries
  • ½ - 1 Tbsp maple syrup adjust for sweetness

Instructions

  • Place the cashews in a large bowl and cover generously with water. Allow to soak overnight.
  • Drain and rinse the cashews, then place in a high speed blender with the 2 cups of water. Blend for 3-4 minutes, until completely smooth.
  • Add the strawberries and maple syrup to taste and blend for another 2 minutes, until completely smooth.
  • If necessary (depends how good your blender is), strain the milk through a fine mesh strainer.
  • Serve cold and enjoy! Seal any extra in an airtight container and store in the fridge for up to 1 week. Shake if separation occurs.

We made a above ground bed and filled it with plant’s my kids love to go out and pick the berries and have them every morning with there toast and eggs they put a little power sugar on them and eat more of them then anything Strawberries are the perfect sweet-tart they add to there plain cottage cheese for after school snack’s too. #ThinkStrawberries

Are you kidding me, how do we love Strawberries? I can fill up this form… whole, just pop them into your mouth! We put them whole in a good container for the kid’s lunches. In smoothies.. Oh my goodness, strawberry and banana and blueberry yogurt smoothies are in demand here as after school snack. Or before bed snack, or anytime! We love sliced and sugared saucy strawberries on our yogurt and icecream. Or on our pancakes and waffles… Strawberry and rhubarb pie… YUM

Since we gave up soda (and switched to seltzer), we halve strawberries, freeze them, and add them to glasses of the seltzer. Good replacement for ice , and you have a snack when you finish drinking :)

I make kefir milk every day – I make it so that it comes out really thick and really carbonated – so if you added strawberries and blended it up you’d have a fizzy strawberry milk soda! :D
